Our Story
How It Began
It all started by a passion and a big heart around 2005 and some say even earlier with a simple but profound conviction that no family left behind. What began as a self funded local outreach effort to help a few families in need and quickly grew into a family operated global humanitarian initiative as the need — and the response — proved far greater than the Captain could imagined. The name BURD HOUSE is a family-inspired name derived from the founder’s surname and uniquely created by his daughters.
Over 21 years later, we have visited over 34 countries, served more than 10,000 families, and built a network of thousands of volunteers who share our commitment to restoring dignity and delivering hope.
Our symbol, the eagle, reflects vision, strength, leadership, and the courage to rise above challenges. It serves as a reminder that with determination, faith, and community support, individuals and families can overcome obstacles and reach new heights. The globe represents our international vision and commitment to serving beyond borders. The hands represent the helping hand extended to others through humanitarian outreach. The birdhouse represents the ‘BURD House’ itself. It symbolizes safety, belonging, protection and family. The rising sun symbolizes hope, opportunity, and new beginnings. The laurel branches symbolize honor, achievement, service and excellence. The circular design reflects our belief that communities become stronger when people come together. The family silhouette represents the founding family whose values, vision and commitment inspired the creation of The BURD HOUSE FOUNDATION INTERNATIONAL.

What We Stand For
We believe hope is not passive — it is a force that moves us to act, to give, and to serve. Every program we run is an act of hope made tangible.
Every person we serve is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with honor. We serve with humility, never charity that diminishes.
We are accountable to those we serve, to our donors, and to our mission. Transparency and honesty are non-negotiable in everything we do.
When crisis strikes, we respond. Our global relief network mobilizes quickly to deliver food, shelter, and care to families in their darkest hours.
We don't just meet immediate needs — we invest in long-term transformation. Education, skills, and opportunity are the foundations of lasting change.
Compassion is the heartbeat of our work. We enter into the pain of others not as observers, but as partners walking alongside them toward restoration.
