At a young age, Shane answered the call to serve his country through military service in the United States Navy during the Gulf War era. His dedication, professionalism, and commitment to mission excellence contributed to the success of multiple operational deployments and distinguished unit achievements. Throughout his service, he was recognized through the award of the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with three campaign stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Navy "E" Ribbon (Battle E) with two E devices, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars.
As the years progressed, Shane became an accomplished international aviation professional, humanitarian leader, and globally recognized philanthropist whose career has been defined by excellence in aviation, leadership, education, US military veteran service, and service to humanity.
With more than 10,000 flight hours operating to destinations across the world, Shane has established himself as a highly experienced aviation professional and aviation educator. He holds the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate — the highest level of pilot certification attainable — along with all major Single-Engine, Multi-Engine, Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, and Advanced Ground Instructor certifications. His aviation expertise extends across 16 different jet aircraft models, supported by six separate jet type ratings, demonstrating exceptional versatility and technical proficiency within the aviation industry.
Committed to lifelong learning and aerospace advancement, Shane has pursued specialized studies in aviation and space sciences through leading academic institutions, including Rocket Science through Yale University and the University of Michigan, as well as Pathways to Space through the University of Colorado.
Beyond aviation, Shane is the Founder and Executive Visionary of The Burd House Foundation International, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to providing hope, dignity, relief, and empowerment to disadvantaged and underserved communities worldwide. Through strategic partnerships, community outreach initiatives, and humanitarian projects, the Foundation works to improve lives by addressing critical social, educational, health, and economic needs.
Shane also serves on the Board of Directors of the Guimba Sanbigkis Patriot Eagles Club, a nonprofit organization committed to supporting vulnerable populations through the distribution of food, medical supplies, educational resources, and essential aid to elderly residents and underserved families.
His dedication to humanitarian service earned him induction as a Bona Fide Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles – Philippine Eagles, where he was honored at The Eagles Excellence Awards for Outstanding Kuya of the Year (2025) in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian contributions and community service efforts throughout the Philippines.
An avid world traveler, Shane has combined his global aviation experience with a passion for international service, creating meaningful impact across diverse cultures and communities.
